From June 2023, the "Landfill for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste in the town of Pernik" is operated by the company AEIFOROS BULGARIA S.A. due to the merger procedure of DIO Pernik Ltd. AEIFOROS BULGARIA S.A. is part of the Greek company AEIFOROS S.A., whose activity is in the field of waste management and trade in ferrous and non-ferrous metal waste.
The companies belong to the resource recovery sector of the Belgian holding company VIOHALCO S.A., owning leading metal processing companies throughout Europe.
The landfill in Pernik for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste built in successive stages, starting from Cell 1 for hazardous waste together with the Waste Reception area. The landfill was put into operation in September 2016.
The owner of the landfill is Stomana Industry S.A. The operator is AEIFOROS BULGARIA S.A.
